IRS Offers Valuable Nonprofit Governance Education

Materials used as part of a continuing education program for IRS Exempt Organizations personnel on governance and tax-exempt organizations are now available on IRS.gov.
The materials cover the elements of governance and how it relates to nonprofit exempt organizations, which include, but is not limited to:

• Governing body and independence of board members;
• Organizational documents;
• Conflicts of interest;
• Whistleblower policies;
• Document retention and destruction; and
• Investments & joint ventures
